Maine Media Workshops/Young Artists Program (Rockport, ME): Many different workshops offered including Documentary Filmmaking, Screenwriting, Acting, Animation Filmmaking, Portfolio creation, Photography and more. Phillips Exeter Academy Summer School:Upper School -- students currently in grades 9 - 11 -- offers more than 100 courses of study from which you select any three and Access Exter for current 7th and 8th graders. Participate in one of six academic clusters: Project Exeter: A Greener Earth; The Land and the Sea; Problem-Solving: An Odyssey of the Mind; A Global Community; The Creative Arts: Let Your Spirit Soar; and Exeter CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

SEAfaring Camp: One-week sailing camp for students ages 13-16 and Advanced SEAfaring Camp: Two-week sailing camp for students 15-18. Both experiences begin in Portland, Maine. Check for more information. 

Sewanee Environmental Institute Pre-College Field Studies Experience: Rising juniors or seniors who are passionate about the outdoors should learn more about this two-week opportunity. This residential program studies the perse ecosystems of the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee. For more information, check here:

Summer Study Programs at Penn State University, University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Vermont, and the Sorbonne in ParisFrance: 2-5 week sessions for current 9th, 10th, and 11th graders. Each campus offers college credits and/or enrichment classes and/or ACT/SAT preparation classes, weekend trips, community service programs, day and night activities. The White Mountain School: Outdoor Adventure programs for Summer. New England Exploration for 13 and 14 year olds: June 25-July 10, rock climbing, hiking, whitewater rafting, mountain biking. Ultimate Northeast for 15 and 16 year olds: July 16-August 7, hike the Long Trail, rock climb and raft. Marine Biology Summer Camp: Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. This one-week experience for high school students will include field excursions, laboratory demonstration and experiments and seminars on coastal ecology and marine environments. UNH PROJECT SMART:a program for motivated sophomores or juniors interested in science and mathematics. This year's program runs from July 2 - July 28 2017. Three modules are offered: Biotechnology & Nanotechnology, Space Science, and Marine and Environmental Science. The application is available on the web site.

NH Institute of Art Pre-College Summer Program: This program is designed for high schools students to develop their college application portfolios and earn college credits. Students will take a drawing class as well as a liberal arts elective and an art elective. July 14-26 in Manchester, NH. For more information, visit

Young Artist Residency Program: The Art Institute of Boston hosts 4-week courses for students entering their junior or senior year. Choose from over 50 courses in the fields of art and graphics. Dates are July 3- July 30, 2016 Build your portfolio, earn college credits, spend a month in Boston! Check out for more info.
UNH Writers Academy: Available for students entering grades 6-12 next year. Sessions available June27 - July 1; July 11-15 or July 18-22. Focus is on reading, writing and learning! Groups meet Monday-Friday from 8:30-2:30. Application is available in the guidance office.
Norwich University (VT) Future Leader Camp for students currently in grades 9, 10, and 11 with a 2.5 or above GPA. Future Leader Camp is designed to focus on inpidual and team skill development. Participants will face daily challenges as well as test their initiative and develop self-confidence. Future Leader Camp includes rappelling and climbing, paintball adventure training, overnight camping, survival skills and orienteering. Please go to the web site for more information

SEA High School Summer Seminars. Sea and land components for all three programs -- Science at Sea: a 3-week academic program for students currently in grades 9, 10, and 11, focusing on the coastal and offshore marine environment around Cape Cod. Oceanography of the Gulf of Maine: a 3-week academic program for students currently in grades 10(who have completed two high school science courses), 11 and 12, focusing on the offshore oceanography of the Gulf of Maine and the coastal ecology ofAppledore Island (2 Cornell University credits issued); and Oceanography of the Southern California Bight: a 3-week academic program for students currently ingrades 9, 10, and 11, focusing on the coastal and offshore marineenvironment of Southern California. Pace University (NY) Summer Scholars Institute, for current 10th and 11th graders who have an 85 or better GPA. 10 "majors" to choose from (including Youth Politics, Film and Screen Studies, Theatre andActing, Painting & Design, Biology, Business, Computer Information Systems, Psychology, Legal Studies and students take two courses within that major and in the evening there are cultural activities (the program is situated on the New York City campus) and lectures on college life.
